Fun with Pet Reptiles

Although 99% of my clients are furry, I am not exclusively a dog or a cat photographer - I am pet photographer and that means I photograph reptiles, too! (See my full reptile portfolio here!)

I had the pleasure of capturing the enchantment of Jyoti the gecko and she did not disappoint. Her vibrant yellow skin with it’s hypnotic black markings is a real sight to see. Of course I had to glam her up a bit for her shoot, but her natural beauty shone through.

Did you know that geckos and other lizards make great pets for both new and experienced pet owners alike? If this is something you’re interested in, make sure to do plenty of research ahead of time. Some species are friendlier than others and some tolerate being handled by humans more than others. Ask yourself why you want this pet then ask a professional from a trusted pet resource which is the best option. It’s also best to be mindful of local and state laws regarding breeding, transporting, and habitation of such reptiles.

If you or someone you know has a pet reptile, I would love to take their photo! I’m all for learning about new types of pets and who knows, maybe one day I’ll even photograph a pet tarantula (gulp!)? Joking aside, I would love to expand my portfolio and photograph anything you consider a pet!
