Hi, I’m Alison!
I am known for my creative vision, my approachability and my quirky personality! I invite you to peruse my diverse portfolio where I use the art of photography to capture a special moment and time in your pet’s life.
Prior to photography, I was a Psychotherapist and became an EAGALA Certified Equine Therapist once I relocated to California from Boston. I worked with the San Diego Wounded Warrior’s program, using therapy horses to assist in healing the many issues that accompany a diagnosis of PTSD. Being involved with a non-traditional form of healing was life changing! Experiencing the vulnerability of both horses and clients sparked my passion for visual story telling.
Transitioning from a mental health professional to having a full time career in fine art photography has been an amazing journey! I started photographing everything from weddings and events to underwater shoots and model portfolios. However, with the onset of COVID, I decided to dedicate myself full-time to photographing animals and I have never looked back.
Why pet photography?
I love crafting different lighting arrangements and setting a scene for each upcoming shoot. But more importantly, I do my best to capture that special look - the various moods displayed in a flash of an eye or an adorable head tilt that will melt your heart and be remembered for a lifetime. Ultimately, it is all about celebrating the love you have for that special furry family member as a story and an image to cherish. That's why I approach pet photography with the same level of care, attention, and love as I would with any other family member.
I have a beautiful home studio in North County San Diego where I create custom sets to tell your pet’s story. While a large majority of my subjects are cats and dogs, I have shot everything from boa constrictors to bearded dragons. Any and all pets are always welcome in my studio.
And my mom was right… I am an animal whisperer!
